About the studio
Harbour Clay Rooms grew from a simple need: space to make ceramics in Amsterdam without owning every tool yourself.
Founder
Nina Vos
Nina is a potter and teacher who trained in the Netherlands and worked in shared studios across Europe before opening Harbour Clay Rooms on KNSM-laan.
Her practice centres on functional ware with quiet surfaces — forms meant for daily use, shaped on the wheel and finished with soft, durable glazes. Teaching is part of that practice: she believes technique should feel generous, not gatekept.
Alongside a small team of visiting teachers, Nina runs courses, workshops, and the membership programme that keeps the kilns warm through the week.

How membership works
Members book bench or wheel time online, store work in assigned shelves, and join the firing queue. Clay can be purchased in the studio; firings are billed by weight.

On KNSM-laan
We sit in the Eastern Docklands — high light, brick and water, a short tram ride from Central. The rooms hold wheels along the windows, handbuilding tables in the middle, and a glaze kitchen at the back.
Visitors for pickups and course days are welcome during reception hours. Studio tours for prospective members run by appointment on Thursday afternoons.
